Skills Unearthed (2012-2013)

'Skills Unearthed' is a two-year arts project funded by Arts Council England and Making it Local with the aim of developing BHAAM, a group of artists and makers in the Blackdown Hills. The aim is to grow and strengthen the membership and skills of the group, and will also result in the commissioning of a series of new creative works in the Blackdown Hills. The commissions will be inspired by, and celebrate the crafts and industries, past and present, of the Blackdown Hills. The first stage was the exhibition of the mini-commissions funded by the project, these exhibitions were held in various locations in the Blackdown Hills in November 2012.

Participating artists included:
Andrew Bell, Carly Batchelor, Ruth Bell, Louise Cottey, Alice Crane, Katherine Creasey, June Dobson, Sara Dudman, Jon England, Elisabeth Fathers, Gordon Field, Sarah George, Maxine Green, Liz Gregory, Bronwen Gundry, Fiona Hamilton, Tim Martin, Nick Meech, Michelle Ridings, Pauline Rook, Karin Sabin Krommes, Andre Wallace and Gillian Widden.
